2026 Schedule
All programs begin at 7:00 pm unless otherwise noted, and take place in our meeting room at 471 Main Street.
POSTPONED – TO BE RESCHEDULED: Tuesday, June 9 – “Snowshoes and Stories” will feature Paul Cote, the owner of Pa’s Trading Post in Oxford. Paul has collected artifacts of historic interest for many years; plus, he tells a good story. He has a remarkable collection of snowshoes and items related to the former Paris Manufacturing Company. Paul will be bringing some of his interesting collectibles as well as the stories associated with them.
Tuesday July 28 – Our July program will present a history of cottage development on Lake Pennesseewassee (Norway Lake), with particular emphasis on the cottages on the three islands midway up the lake: Bass Island, Mid-Lake Island, and Rock Island. The cottages that still exist on these islands are among the oldest structures on the lake. Please join us if you have stories to tell about the history of other cottages.
Tuesday, August 11 – we will present a program related to the Revolutionary War period and how Norway residents factored into the events of the day. While Norway was not established in 1776, future settlers of Norway did play a part in the birth of the Nation and in the some of the place names in Norway. We also hope to incorporate some history of the Native American presence in the area from this time.
Saturday, September 12 – During the famous Norway Maine Arts Festival, we will once again re-create the Marigold Tea Room. Come in and enjoy a slice of homemade pie and a cold drink. The open hours for the tea room will be announced as the date gets closer.
