Norway Genealogies
The list at the link above gives the family names for whom we have family histories and genealogies. Many of them are quite extensive and may also contain photos and news clippings. If your family has a connection to Norway, but the name you seek is not listed here, there still may be information for that individual in the genealogy of another of your family names. The public is always welcome to come in and use these resources. Many thanks to volunteer Mark McGovern for compiling this extensive list.
Daniels Studio Pictures and Negatives
Our collection contains more than 3700 prints and/or negatives from long-time Norway formal photographers Daniels Studio. The collection dates from the 1940s to the 1980s and contains senior class pictures, wedding pictures and other formal sittings. Follow the link above to access the list of names. If you would like a digital copy of a picture, please email us.
When cataloging the individuals it was sometimes difficult to read the name of an individual, or the name may have been misspelled (Heibert or Hiebert), so check for other spellings of the name. In addition, the name listed may be the customer who ordered the photograph, rather than the person pictured. When known, the first name and the date of the photograph is given.
Miscellaneous Photos
We also have a collection of miscellaneous identified photographs and cabinet cards, dating from the late 1800s. The collection includes snapshots, school pictures and formal sittings. When we are given identified photos of people, they are included in this list. Many of the pictures include handwritten information, which is included in the “notes” column. If you would like a digital copy, please send us an email.
